en Vogue Gel Nails

    Health

  1. Client states that they are already using a gel. Why change?
    • Gel is only a description of thickness, not what is contained in the product.
    • en VogueOther products with a gel type consistency contain some or all of the following: acetone, formaldehyde, methylene chloride, methyl ethyl ketone, xyelene, methyl methacrylate, toluene. en Vogue products do not contain any of the above.
    • Most gels are self-leveling, en Vogue's product can be sculpted to create strength in the C-curve.
    • Gels that do not require a light to cure are simply acrylic powder dissolved in a solvent.
    • Gel type systems use short chain polymers which become brittle with time. en Vogue resins are long chain polymers and they retain their original flexibility.
    •

  2. Why is this product safe?
    • Does not contain any primers or aggressive chemicals and does not penetrate the natural nail bed.
    • Does not require acetone for removal, simply buff off.
    • Does not produce harsh odours or vapours.
    •

  3. How does this product affect the natural nail?
    • Natural nail grows out healthy and strong - eventually only requiring a thin overlay of product.
    • Other products will pit and damage the natural nail.
    • Other products can also cause damage within the body, due to absorption of harsh chemicals (i.e. acetone and primers etc.).
    •

  4. en VogueClient claims that they do not use primer before applying their product.
    • Many gel products include the primer, eliminating the extra step.
    • Other gel type products still release harmful vapours even if odourless.
    • For further information please refer to "Product Comparison" section in the education manual.
    •

  5. What independent information can be given?
    • Ask them to refer to the Consumers Dictionary of Cosmetic Ingredients, written by Ruth Winter, published by Crown - New York 1989 or contact the FDA and the internet at http://beautytech.com.
    •

  6. Why are mold and fungus problems eliminated?
    • Our product is non-porous, eliminating the penetration of moisture and oxygen into the natural nail.
    •

  7. Why are their no vapours released from the en Vogue product?
    • en Vogue does not contain any harsh chemicals i.e. toluene), therefore vapours are not released.
    • Our product is a solid, for example, if the lid was left off the product for a long period of time it would not evaporate, as there is no liquid contained in the product.
    •

  8. Appearance

  9. Do en Vogue nails yellow and become brittle?
    • Our product does not yellow or become brittle due to the longer polymer chains used in the product, the set curing time, and the fact it does not use harsh chemicals (i.e. methyl methacrylate) to cure.
    •

  10. Can Nail Polish be used?
    • Yes, polish does not affect the shine or surface of the artificial nail.
    • After removing polish, the en Vogue nail will not be stained, but will still have the high gloss shine.
    •

  11. What about lifting?
    • en Vogue's product is extremely flexible, moving with the natural nail as it grows, therefore eliminating lifting problems
    • Lifting will only occur if improper technique is used i.e. applying the product on the cuticle area, or not applying Connector
